Brothers in Song.

I was just listening to Yaakov Shwekey and Yonaton Razel sing V’Hi Sheamda on the new Shwekey DVD and that got me in the mood of some Aaron Razel. While I was listening to that it got me thinking about people who have brothers singing with them in the business.

Eitan and Shlomo Katz

Aaron and Yonatan Razel

The Shapiro Brothers (Acheinu)

Paul and Sol Zim

Yaakov and Yosef Chaim Shwekey

MBD and Mendy Werdyger

Solomon Brothers (Moshav/SoulFarm)

I can’t think of any more off hand. Anyone have any additions?

This post is dedicated to Sruly Werdyger, who has a cousin (Yeedle) but no singing brother. (Sorry Sruly you don’t count in this list.)

Here are some more:

8th Day (Marcus Brothers)

Aryeh and Dani Kunstler

Shlomo and Shmuli Sufrin (Shlomo Simcha)

Yossi and Avi Piamenta

Kol Achai

  • Yehuda says:

You didn’t leave out 8th Day, did you?

On Aish you have Shlomo Simchah with his brother Shmuli singing backup vocals.

Kol Achai, 3 brothers who sound absolutely phenomenal together.

    The Piamentas

Thats all I can think of right now.

  • Sruly says:

wow, i left out 8th Day, I’m gonna hear about this one.

  • Aron B. says:

    The Rabbi’s sons (?)

  • yk says:

can’t forget the israeli duo, Motti and Yaakov Zingboim.
Just to refresh our memories, Yaakov composed Dedi’s Zoche, which was originally sung by himself in his debut CD.
Motti is a much better singer and had a very cool album some 10 years ago. If you don’t know it, it’s really worth the money and I’ve seen it flying around in eichlers for cheap. But they both are in shadows now..

Also you can add a more informal duo – Eli and the little Gerstner!

you also have some interesting father/son combinations: Eli and rivie shwebel and more..

  • C says:

Naftali and Shlomo Abramson (separate bands)
I think the two main singers in Pey Daled are brothers.

  • Moshe says:

Don’t forget the Kornfelds. Father and a bunch of sons (who are therefore brothers)

  • Avi says:

Pey Dalid – Mordechai, Shlomo and Pesach Walker
